Transformational leaders focus not only on academic achievement but also on developing an organizational culture that supports collaboration and innovation in teaching methods. Despite its great potential, transformational leadership faces various challenges, such as complex curricula, educational inequality, teacher placement issues, high education costs, and inadequate infrastructure. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with literature review to examine the relationship between transformational leadership and improvements in education quality, as well as the challenges faced. The results of the study indicate that transformational leadership can increase teacher motivation and performance, encourage innovation in teaching, and build a positive organizational culture. However, the existing challenges require collaborative efforts from the government, society, and educational institutions to create a better learning environment. By improving the quality of education, it is hoped that quality human resources will be created, which will drive the progress and development of the nation. Quality education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but also the development of character and skills necessary to address future challenges.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education)https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/212Optimizing the Management of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) at the Junior High School Level2025-05-24T16:26:56+00:00Rana Adiza Putriranadiza236@gmail.comAtiva Mardatilaranadiza236@gmail.comHelen Listaliaranadiza236@gmail.comKhairunnisa Luqyanaranadiza236@gmail.comLutfi Alvinaranadiza236@gmail.comMulia Putri Wijayaranadiza236@gmail.comNasywa Faiza Khairaniranadiza236@gmail.comNauraranadiza236@gmail.comNeysha Amini Putriranadiza236@gmail.comNur Lilla Yusaranadiza236@gmail.comRezi Salsabilaranadiza236@gmail.comRiduna Pohanranadiza236@gmail.comSiti Zahra Zafiraranadiza236@gmail.comYuni Widiyastutiranadiza236@gmail.com
This study aims to examine the optimization of the management of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) at the junior secondary school (SMP) level through a literature study approach enriched with mini field research. Literature study was conducted on national regulations, particularly Permendikdasmen No. 3 of 2025, as well as regional policies governing the implementation of SPMB. Mini-research in the form of observations and interviews with schools was used to obtain an overview of the real implementation in the field. The results show that in general, the implementation of SPMB in junior high schools has followed the central regulation that emphasizes the principles of transparency, accountability, and equitable access to education through four main channels: domicile, affirmation, achievement, and mutation. However, some challenges were found in the socialization process, registration techniques, and quota adjustments between pathways governed by local policies. Optimizing SPMB management can be done by strengthening coordination between stakeholders, improving the quality of information services to the public, and conducting periodic evaluations and policy adjustments. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for school managers and education offices in improving the effectiveness and equity of access to education at the junior secondary level.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education)https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/186THE INFLUENCE OF PRINCIPAL AKADEMIK SUPERVISION ON TEACHER TEACHING PERFORMANCE AT BATUSANGKAR STATE HIGH SCHOOL2025-04-09T10:27:26+00:00Hendra Gunawan Siborohendragunawan3260@gmail.comIrsyadirsyad1122@fip.unp.ac.idNelfia Adinelfiaadi@fip.unp.ac.idNovriyanti Achyarnoyach1115@gmail.com
This research is quantitative research with a correlational type of research. The research subjects were student teachers at Batusangkar State High School. The population was 144 teachers and the sample was determined using Proportional random sampling technique with a total sample of 63 teachers. Based on data processing and SPSS 26 calculation results, it is clear that the teacher's teaching performance is high with an achievement of 88.3% and academic supervision is also good with an achievement of 85,1%. The influence of the principal's academic supervision on the teaching performance of teachers at Batusangkar State High School is 0.365. So, the hypothesis simultaneously proves that there is a significant influence between the principal's academic supervision and the teacher's teaching performance. Calculation of the coefficient of determination shows that the principal's academic supervision variable is able to influence the teacher's teaching performance variable by 36,5%. Good academic supervision has been proven to have a positive influence on teacher teaching performance. It can be concluded that the better the academic supervision carried out by the principal, the higher the level of influence on the teaching performance of teachers at Batusangkar State High School.
2025-05-12T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education)https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/187Transformational Leadership of School Principals with Teacher Performance at State High Schools in Ranah Pesisir District2025-04-19T06:05:45+00:00Putri Apriliskam Alwisputriapriliskam@gmail.comNellitawatinellitawati@fip.unp.ac.idAnisahanisah@fip.unp.ac.idWidiawatiwidiawati@fip.unp.ac.id
This research emerged as a response to the observed insuboptimality in Teacher Performance. The main objective of SBM is to improve the quality of education through the active participation of all stakeholders, including principals, teachers, students, parents and communities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SBM in an effort to improve the quality of education at various school levels. The method used is a literature study of various relevant journals and scientific articles. The results show that effective implementation of SBM can improve learning quality, community participation and school accountability. However, challenges such as limited resources, lack of training for principals and teachers, and lack of school committee participation are still obstacles in implementing SBM. Therefore, a strategy is needed appropriate measures, including managerial training, improving communication among stakeholders and strengthening the role of school committees to support the success of SBM in improving education quality.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education)
