However, challenges such as limited resources, lack of training for principals and teachers, and lack of school committee participation are still obstacles in implementing SBM. Therefore, a strategy is needed appropriate measures, including managerial training, improving communication among stakeholders and strengthening the role of school committees to support the success of SBM in improving education quality.
Yulia Fitri Rania Windi Lestari Galuh Diah Ningtias Mezaluna Azzurra Efendi Natasya Okta Vinda Lustikha Dina Bravelia Fadea Aulia Rahman Dearna Esza Imelda Anisa Fitriani Nadia Rahmawati Aditya Riza Putra Amar Syaipul Ali Azwar Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-06-14 2025-06-14 53 62 10.24036/ije.3.2.53-62 Optimizing the Management of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) at the Junior High School Level https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/212
This study aims to examine the optimization of the management of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) at the junior secondary school (SMP) level through a literature study approach enriched with mini field research. Literature study was conducted on national regulations, particularly Permendikdasmen No. 3 of 2025, as well as regional policies governing the implementation of SPMB. Mini-research in the form of observations and interviews with schools was used to obtain an overview of the real implementation in the field. The results show that in general, the implementation of SPMB in junior high schools has followed the central regulation that emphasizes the principles of transparency, accountability, and equitable access to education through four main channels: domicile, affirmation, achievement, and mutation. However, some challenges were found in the socialization process, registration techniques, and quota adjustments between pathways governed by local policies. Optimizing SPMB management can be done by strengthening coordination between stakeholders, improving the quality of information services to the public, and conducting periodic evaluations and policy adjustments. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for school managers and education offices in improving the effectiveness and equity of access to education at the junior secondary level.
Rana Adiza Putri Ativa Mardatila Helen Listalia Khairunnisa Luqyana Lutfi Alvina Mulia Putri Wijaya Nasywa Faiza Khairani Naura Neysha Amini Putri Nur Lilla Yusa Rezi Salsabila Riduna Pohan Siti Zahra Zafira Yuni Widiyastuti Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-06-14 2025-06-14 63 72 10.24036/ije.3.2.63-72 The Role of Transformational Leadership in Improving the Quality of Education https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/213
Transformational leadership plays an important role in improving the quality of education in Indonesia by inspiring and motivating teachers and students to achieve common goals. Transformational leaders focus not only on academic achievement but also on developing an organizational culture that supports collaboration and innovation in teaching methods. Despite its great potential, transformational leadership faces various challenges, such as complex curricula, educational inequality, teacher placement issues, high education costs, and inadequate infrastructure. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with literature review to examine the relationship between transformational leadership and improvements in education quality, as well as the challenges faced. The results of the study indicate that transformational leadership can increase teacher motivation and performance, encourage innovation in teaching, and build a positive organizational culture. However, the existing challenges require collaborative efforts from the government, society, and educational institutions to create a better learning environment. By improving the quality of education, it is hoped that quality human resources will be created, which will drive the progress and development of the nation. Quality education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but also the development of character and skills necessary to address future challenges.
Femia Rizky Anggun Lisa Marianti Desfitri Ramadhani Dwina Putri Indhira Syahputri Mawarni Safitri Selvia Ardiva Putri Fatimah Azzahra Copyright (c) 2025 IJE (International Journal of Education) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2025-06-14 2025-06-14 73 81 10.24036/ije.3.2.73-81
