The study population included 241 teachers, with a sample of 73 people determined using the Slovin formula (10% error rate) and the stratified proportional random sampling technique. Data collection instruments are Likert scale questionnaires that have met the validity and reliability tests. The Data were analyzed using a simple linear regression technique with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed that: (1) the work motivation of teachers is in the category of very high with the achievement rate of 92.29%; (2) servant leadership principals are in the category of very good with the achievement of 93.22%; and (3) there is a significant influence between servant leadership on teacher work motivation of 67.8%. This study, therefore, explored the perceived moderating role of principals' situational leadership style on the impact of minimum wage implementation and fuel subsidy removal on teachers' welfare and productivity in Osun State, Nigeria. The study employed concurrent mixed-method, while two-hundred and ten participants were purposively sampled among serving public secondary school teachers in Irewole, Isokan and Ayedaade federal constituency, Osun State, Nigeria. A validated self-designed instrument was used and the data obtained were analysed with the aid of both descriptive and inferential statistical tools. The findings indicated that the teaching workforce in Osun State, Nigeria, is predominantly middle-aged (46%), female (65%), and relatively well-qualified (63% with First Degree/HND), with limited postgraduate representation (9% with Master's). Minimum wage implementation (β = 0.070, p > 0.05) had a non-significant positive impact, while fuel subsidy removal (β = -0.012, p > 0.05) had a non-significant negative impact on teachers' welfare and productivity. Together, they accounted for 10.1% variation. Low leadership exacerbates fuel subsidy removal's negative impact (β = -0.25, p = 0.012), while effective leadership improves outcomes (β = 0.32, p = 0.003). Leadership style moderates this impact (β = 0.18, p = 0.010). The study concluded that minimum wage and fuel subsidy removal have non-significant effects on teachers' welfare/productivity, but situational leadership moderates fuel subsidy removal's impact, with effective leadership improving outcomes. There is need to implement transportation allowances for teachers and prioritise leadership development training for principals to boost school resilience.
Waliyi Olayemi Aransi, Florence Adeoti Yusuf, Adesile Moshood Imran, Romoke Edu Ogunlana, Bamidele Sulaiman Olugbon, Oluwatimileyin Samuel Adams Copyright (c) 2026 IJE (International Journal of Education) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/272 Mon, 30 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 An Exploration of Social and Economic Impacts of Rural Access and Mobility Project Among Residents in Osun State, Nigeria https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/287
Despite the potential benefits of rural access and mobility projects, there is a dearth of empirical research on the long-term socioeconomic impacts of such projects on rural communities in Osun State, Nigeria. This study, therefore, explored social and economic impacts of rural access and mobility project among residents in Osun State, Nigeria with a view to examining the socio-demographic characteristics of the residents and social and economic impact of the RAMP projects on the residents, respectively.

The study was anchored on Growth Pole Theory (GPT) and Rural Accessibility Theory (RAT), while concurrent mixed-method design approach was employed. Four-hundred and fifty respondents residing within the RAMP-2 projects regions comprised Iwo, Ife and Ilesha were sampled using both probability and non-probability sampling procedures. A self-designed instrument was used to obtained information from the participants. Descriptive statistics comprised simple percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used for quantitative data analysis, while the responses from the KII were thematically analysed.

The results indicated that the RAMP project increased access to educational institutions, make educational resources readily available and accessible, ease an access to information and communication services, expansion in the access to markets for selling products, improved access to clean water, substantive reduction in dropout rates, promote access to education for vulnerable groups, among others.

The study concluded that RAMP project had social and economic impacts on the resident of the communities under investigation. Therefore, officials should prioritise addressing inadequate institutional capacity and insufficient coordination among stakeholders; and prioritise the establishment of a dedicated project management unit, strengthening stakeholder coordination, and building local government capacity to ensure project success among others.
Funmilayo Bosede Oladosu, John Agbonifo Copyright (c) 2026 IJE (International Journal of Education) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://ije.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/ije/article/view/287 Mon, 30 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000
